You’re on the right track if you want to learn martial arts. Becoming decent at such a skill is crucial to ensure safety and security. Because of that, we’ll go through the primary reasons any woman should learn Krav Maga.

1. Effective for self-defense

Today, Krav Maga is an especially prevalent sport worldwide. It first started in the Israeli military and spread to the entire world. As a result, many people, including women, participate in it.

Krav Maga is one of the leading martial arts for self-defense because its training highly reflects real dangerous situations. As a result, the trainee will react more quickly with more practice. A sudden knife, for instance, is a scenario you’ll go over in Krav Maga training.

Overall, knowing self-defense is fantastic in today’s world. Understanding the basics of fighting will highly benefit one’s life sense of security. Choking, grappling, and ground-fighting are a few skills you’ll learn in the classes

Furthermore, in many attacks, the attacker will use a firearm. There’s a massive emphasis on countering such attacks in Krav Maga. As a result, you’ll know how to overcome these risky situations.

Having high-quality equipment will boost your progress. When I trained at home, I didn’t have suitable gear for the time I was training. As a result, I didn’t progress as much. Check out this punching bag by Everlast. It’s one of the best out there.

2. Increases confidence

Training in martial is a form of self-help. Whether you’re male or female, you’re going to benefit from doing it. Krav Maga, in particular, is a suitable way for self-development. Consequently, one can change perspective and mindset from training in it.

Training in Krav Maga increases confidence because you’ll overcome various obstacles while in training. As a result, you’ll trust yourself to a better degree and know your worth. Overcoming these obstacles, such as winning fights and investing effort, increased my confidence.

From personal experience, you won’t notice this benefit until you’re being consistent with your training. Because of that, you shouldn’t expect to be confident until you’re capable of being invested in the classes.

I highly encourage you to read an article I wrote on whether learning Krav Maga is worth it or not. It especially fits those who’re hesitant in this

3. Empowering

According to the study I mentioned in the introduction, women are less likely to be sexually assaulted if they’ve been through self-defense classes.

We understand the worth Krav Maga classes can have on security. In its nature, it’s for self-defense. Because of that, whether you’re male or female, short or tall, it’ll suit you.

If you focus on the effect it can bring, you’ll understand that it’s empowering. There’s a short story I read about a woman in a bar. A man grabbed her hat and played with it. How would some women react to that? By simply trying to evade.

Well, she looked at him in his eyes and said,

“I don’t know you, don’t touch me.”

How do you think this story would end if she hadn’t done that? Most likely by him continuing with his behavior. Yet, she solved it quickly and effectively; by being assertive and empowered.

4. Effective for fighting

According to a study, police officers with a Krav Maga background performed better in self-defense situations while in danger, such as arrests. (Source)

Krav maga is an effective self-defense system. It fits many situations, such as street fights and knife attacks. There isn’t a single part of my body that’ll tell you not to learn it.

Knowing which situations it fits is crucial to using it effectively. Follow the link to read more about this topic in an article of mine.

For self-defense, various martial arts aren’t as suitable for such purposes. Because of that, you shouldn’t learn them as they fit other pursuits, such as becoming a solid fighter. For instance, while Karate is a remarkable fighting style, it’s not as effective for self-defense as Krav Maga. Read more about this topic by following the link.

From personal experience, Krav Maga has been one of the most intense training I’ve ever done. It’s not a myth that with a proper instructor, you’ll have an excellent full-body workout while training a self-defense system.

Because you’ll use most muscle groups in your body, you’ll burn more calories than the average activity. Krav Maga meets the ACSM guidelines for managing body weight. (Source) Furthermore, in an hour-long KM session, you burn 616 calories on average, which is plenty.

exercisers can expect a moderateto-vigorous intensity workout that teaches self-defense techniques while simultaneously providing a full-body workout.

6. Betters situational awareness

Knowing the pre-sings of a dangerous situation is crucial in countering it. Let me explain. When you reach a decent level in martial arts, you’ll begin to look for scenarios so you’ll react fast. Your brain does that automatically.

Now, the next part is crucial. Understand that the number of times you practiced a specific situation reflects the degree to which you’re capable of reacting. Because of that, the more practices you show up, the more professional you’ll become in solving self-defense situations.

Countering a situation before it began is more leisurely than after. As a result, knowing how to identify a dangerous situation before it starts is crucial.

If you know how to, you’ll be able to avoid getting into said situations. That will solve all the problems. I once heard a unique quote I take with me anywhere I go.

“Krav Maga or other martial arts isn’t nearly as effective as running.”

If running is an option, you better take it. By participating in a self-defense situation, you’re putting yourself at risk. Thus avoiding it is more favorable.

7. Highly beneficial

The last reason is a general one. Training in martial arts is highly beneficial. There’s a variety of positive experiences one will have by simply staying consistent with one’s training. Consequently, I recommend it to anyone who hasn’t started their self-defense journey yet to begin.

The following list is the benefits one can expect to experience from doing martial arts, particularly Krav Maga.
