Muay Thai is worth learning because it’s a solid martial art that teaches effective striking techniques, primarily punching and kicking. It also incorporates elbowing, kneeing, and clinching, but mostly focuses on punching and kicking. Lastly, it provides countless benefits, such as increased confidence and self-esteem.

There really isn’t a replacement for learning to fight, especially in today’s world, which can be dangerous. That’s why martial arts—in general—are incredibly important and can play a cornerstone role in your life and keep providing you with many benefits.

The first section of this article will discuss whether learning Muay Thai, aka Thai Boxing, is worth it. While I’ve been practicing it myself, I’ll try to keep myself as unbiased as possible, so you can enjoy a neutral opinion from someone with quite a lot of experience in the field of martial arts.

Muay Thai is worth learning because it’s an effective fighting style that makes aggressive and fierce fighters. It also provides countless other benefits, such as increased confidence, higher self-esteem, lower aggression and violence levels, and most desirable, better physical shape and having six-pack abs.

How to Start Doing Muay Thai

Indeed, consistently doing Muay Thai will lead to you losing body fat and revealing your marvelous six-pack abs. A better physical shape is one of the most desirable results in today’s world, which you can easily achieve by consistently doing martial arts, specifically Muay Thai!

So what will you learn in Muay Thai? In short, you’ll learn to strike effectively while combining offensive moves and using various defense techniques to ensure your safety and remain undamaged.

Imagine yourself knowing to strike effectively. Wouldn’t you feel safer in hostile environments? Of course you would. Why Everyone Should Learn Muay Thai

Lately, I’ve stumbled around a few people that suggest that learning to fight isn’t a beneficial trait to have. Therefore, they suggest against learning Muay Thai, which is a claim that’s dear to my heart because I’m a true believer in using martial arts to better your lifestyle.

Learning Muay Thai is one of the best things you can do for yourself if your goal is to either learn to fight, get into a better physical shape, or improve your life as a whole. For instance, training in Muay Thai will boost your confidence and improve your self-esteem, two critical traits to have.

I want to quote a study I believe is critical to this article. First, this research was conducted on young adults with visual impairment with Karate training, so some might argue that it doesn’t apply to the general population or to Muay Thai. However, I still want you to read it, as I think it applies to (1) everyone, and (2) people who do Muay Thai.

Findings suggest that karate practice may improve self-esteem, physical selfperception, and exercise self-efficacy in young adults with VI.

This study shows a clear point; martial arts training improves self-esteem, physical self-perception (body image), and self-efficacy. These three traits are critical to living a healthy, fulfilling, and satisfying life. So it’ll be worth investing your time into Muay Thai, as it’ll improve all three!

Martial arts are one of the most beneficial platforms you can participate in to better your life as a whole. You don’t understand how much more satisfied with life you can be when you train in one. One of the best ones is Muay Thai, aka Thai Boxing.

This is exactly the reason I encourage all of you to start and continue your Muay Thai training. If you haven’t been training for more than a few months, you can’t understand just how different of a person you’ll be if you do that.

I, and so many others, have managed to improve our lives drastically using Muay Thai. It’s one of the most beneficial fighting styles you can learn, and I’m sure you can do the same too!

Can I Teach Myself Muay Thai?

The last topic we’ll review is whether you can teach yourself Muay Thai. I believe it’s an important subject to discuss because doing so will give you enough resources to start training today. You won’t need to wait until you find a gym or a partner; you’ll be able to start training right now without hesitating or waiting for a miracle to strike you in the face (literally!)

You can teach yourself Muay Thai by shadowboxing at home and following a coach (can be found on YouTube.) It’s also recommended you buy a punching bag, boxing gloves, and hand wraps to compliment your home training so that you can feel pressure when you punch, to help you progress faster.
