7 Reasons To Carry A Pistol Anywhere You Go

The pistol is the single best self-defense weapon out there. It’s so powerful that many people avoid carrying it. Because people are afraid of responsibility, they’re not sure in their abilities to have one and keep others around them safe.

However, what these people don’t understand is the benefits such a weapon can provide. First, many people are not aware of the fact that it’s safe to carry. There are several safety procedures installed in every single pistol. They are there so anyone will not get hurt.

In addition, carrying a pistol means you can react in an unpleasant situation without the need of local authorities. Think of the amount of responsibility such capability comes. It’s a massive amount of responsibility. You can take a life with a press of a button.

However, things are not that simple. If you are willing to have a pistol, there’s a long process waiting for you. You’ll need to get yourself a license. Such matter is not simple to finish. You’ll need to prove to the government that you’re responsible enough not to use it maliciously. Later, you will be required to choose a pistol to your liking and constantly be at a shooting range.

Although getting a weapon may be difficult, I encourage everyone to get one of their own. You will be able to defend yourself and people close to you in any given situation. In this post, I will cover why I believe you should carry a pistol anywhere you go.

Confidence

In life, confidence is everything. It’s the way you act and react in social situations. For this reason, you must be confident in yourself. Being self-confident will immediately increase your respect for yourself, thus allowing you to act appropriately in any situation.

For myself, carrying a pistol is confidence. It allows me the ability to move around freely without any worry. In addition, I am aware that if anyone attacks people who are close to me, I can react and take care of the situation. Thus when I carry a weapon, I am confident.

Not only that, I know that I can react appropriately. I am confident in my skillset and in my ability to use a pistol properly. When I carry a different self-defense tool, I get a similar sense of certainty. For instance, when I travel, I have a pocket knife on me at all times.

If you have ever felt the feeling of being defensless, I highly recommend you arm yourself. It may take time to get used to having a weapon on you. However, it is definitely worth the effort. You most likely have felt the feeling of being defensless if you have ever traveled to a different country before. It’s the feeling that you can’t defend yourself if an unfriendly attack you. Now, if you carry a pistol on you, you will never have to go through being defensless again.

Self-defense

So, as you may know, I am a fan of self-defense. I’ve been in the military for the past three years. From my experience, I can guarantee that if you are familiar with the art of self-defense, you are at a tremendous advantage.

Not only are you able to defend yourself in a time of need. But, you can protect your family and others around you. If you think about it, it’s an essential skill that anyone should learn. However, when we think of self-defense, we think of street fighting. That cannot be further away from the truth.

There are many tools that you can own that, with the correct usage, can protect you. For instance, you can purchase pepper spray and use it for self-defense purposes. If a hostile attacks you, you can use the pepper spray against the unfriendly. That will allow you to disable the attacker and avoid injuries.

Contrary to what many people believe, self-defense is not all about offensive moves. It’s about avoiding injuries. Thus the outcome you’re looking to achieve is avoiding any possible damages. It’s that simple. If you can protect yourself, you’ll dodge injuries. Later, you can take care of the hostile and get him behind bars.

In the beginning, I mentioned that a pistol is the ultimate self-defense weapon. Let me explain. It’s compact, accessible, lightweight, effective, and, most importantly, deadly. Because of that, if you are familiar with using a pistol, you can protect yourself and others around you with ease.

Lightweight

In the military, operators move around with rifles. Why is that? Because a weapon is more effective than any other self-defense weapon. For example, an AR can be effective at long range while a pistol can’t. In addition, a rifle is deadly while pepper spray isn’t.

However, there’s a catch. I have never seen people move around publicly carrying an AR. They don’t because it’s the most uncomfortable weapon you can carry on you. It’s heavy and will force you to adapt to it.

On the contrary, a pistol is lightweight, and you can carry it with ease. Therefore, you’ll see many people having a light weapon on them publicly. It’s too comfortable to refuse to buy one. Overall, I encourage you to try carrying a pistol. You’ll notice the comfort one can provide.

Lethal

In the self-defense world, there are plenty of non-lethal tools. For instance, pepper spray won’t kill anyone. However, many weapons can badly injure an attacker.

A pistol is a lethal self-defense weapon. If you use it properly, a single shot can end up killing an individual. Therefore, when you carry one, you have responsibility. For that reason, to get a lethal self-defense weapon, to begin with, you are required to go through a long process. That process identifies if you’re capable of having that responsibility. If you don’t, the government won’t approve you as applicable.

Imagine the process of getting a pistol was simple. Everyone would get one. Think of the consequences of an unresponsible individual that carries a lethal weapon. One mistake can end a life. For that reason, the process is lengthy. However, it’s worth your time, and I encourage you to go through it.

As I previously mentioned, the point of self-defense is to avoid injuries, not to disable an attacker. In some cases, the one way you can evade injuries is by disabling the hostile. To do so, you may need to have a lethal weapon. Such as a pistol. When you carry a self-defense tool, you can feel safe. Because of that, you ought to seek to get one.

Intimidation

From the title itself, you may not understand how intimidation can benefit you. Well, there is a single way intimidation can assist you. It can force a hostile not to act. Imagine you’re about to attack an individual using a pocket knife. When you are about to approach, you notice he sees you and reaches to his pocket. He pulls out a pistol. What do you do now? Easy. You flee.

Now, let me explain. Why will you even consider attacking an individual that is armed? You will never risk it. Let’s assume you are the armed individual. You didn’t even need to use your pistol. However, it still helped you. That is the ultimate example of the way you can use intimidation as a helpful tool.

What do we learn from the previous scenario? We can see how we can use intimidation to our advantage. You don’t need to use the pistol and badly injure someone for it to be helpful. We noticed an attacker running towards us with a pocket knife. We can assume he’s about to attack us. Therefore, you pulled out your pistol and intimidated the hostile. Not only did you avoid injuries, but you also protected others around you.

Legal

As funny as it sounds, if you can carry a pistol, you can do it legally. Many lethal self-defense tools are illegal to carry publicly. For example, some people have a taser on them. If they get caught with it, local authorities will arrest them. Another example is some types of pepper sprays are illegal from civilian carry.

However, if you went through the long process of getting yourself a pistol’s license, you can carry one in public. You don’t need to worry that local authorities will catch you. Even if they do, and they might, you’re in the clear.

When you enter a public space and security asks you if you carry a weapon, you can say yes. You are worry-free. I mean, you have a lethal weapon that is capable of badly injuring an individual. Even then, you can carry it with pride and declare to everyone that you are armed. That is a proper privilege.

Respect

Individuals who think about the future are on the right path. Your coworkers, family, friends, and yourself are important to you. Therefore, if you think about getting a pistol to protect them, you’re thinking about the future. Therefore, people surrounding you will respect you more.

Not only that, they’ll trust you and will want you around them. However, some people are anti-guns, which is understandable. But, if they’ll ever need assistance, you’ll be there to help them. Because of that, even tho they’re anti-gun, they’ll respect you.

Don’t get me wrong. That should not be the reason to carry a pistol. You ought not to care about what people think of you. If you do, you’ll constantly do what people expect you to, and that is not the way to live. But, they’ll respect you more, which will only benefit you.

Conclusion

There are plenty of reasons to carry a pistol. You may want one for self-defense purposes, or you may like the idea of feeling safe. Nevertheless, I encourage you to get one. A pistol is lightweight, accessible, easily carryable, but, most importantly, deadly. For these reasons, I encourage anyone looking to defend themselves to get one of their own.
